Frost Dates
In central Wisconsin we are often asked when can I put my annual flowers outside or plant my vegetable garden. The last frost is often around May 26th. We always wait to plant our vegetables and flowers outside until Memorial Day weekend, a few times we have gotten the itch with the nice weather to put things outside earlier, but the frost has come and our plants are gone.
On the other side of the spectrum the first frost of the fall is around September 15th. Keeping these dates in mind will help give you success at the beginning and end of planting season. Knowing the frost date will help you pick the best vegetable varieties to gain an optimum harvest for your year.
